JOB DETAILS:
Stores Controller
Characteristics:
• Excellent knowledge of Excel to be able to handle costings
• Strong personality to be able to say “no” when required
• Methodical, neat and logical
• Energetic
• Stock control experience would be an advantage but is not essential for the right candidate
1. Costing of all inventory
• Obtain all documents for goods arriving at the premises in advance of the arrival
• Prepare costing of those goods on the prepared Template
• Receive goods and sign delivery documents indicating what will be accepted into stock plus short or over deliveries
• Based on what is received, finalise costings – all items in shipment, not only what will be accepted
• Provide details of what is not accepted for accounts department to prepare NCR’s
• NCR items will “carry” a portion of costs which must be recovered from Supplier
• Copies of costings to be used for GRV creation by accounts department ONLY for goods accepted
• Finalised costing lines to be value/copied into costing data base
• 2. Control over Stores
• Total sole control over all inventory and inventory locations
• Keep keys of store rooms
• Ensure store rooms are neat, systematic and “ordered” at all times
• Be present at ALL instances where goods are received and only receipt goods into store room locations based on goods received voucher documents
• Be present at ALL instances where goods are issued and only issue goods from stores based on picking slip documents
• Keep record in the stores of all goods received vouchers and goods issued picking slips, so as to be able to assist with any variance queries
• Control all scrap materials of value
• 3. Inventory counts
• Assist stock counting staff with:
• location of inventory where there is doubt
• ii. all variances identified by stock counters
• Take sole responsibility for ALL stock variances
• 4. Managing Job Cards and Used Parts
• Ensure that all used parts, that are re-usable, are processed into the accounting system and is available to be included on job cards
• Ensure job cards are correctly processed with specific reference to items included in the costing of that job card
• Ensure the conversion store process, and all other stock related processes, are followed to the letter
• Ensure Machine Shop systems and job cards are followed to the letter
• Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration (BA)/CIPS.
• Minimum relevant experience of three years
• Demonstratable knowledge in Microsoft office
