Overall Job Purpose
Supervise and execution of the following Mine Services functions;
• Pumping system design and layout in conjunction with Mine Planning
• Sizing of pump and pipe-selection, installations, relocations, maintenance and repairs
• Construction of pipelines – HDPE & steel
• Pump and engine maintenance and repairs
• Lighting plant maintenance and repairs

Specific Job Responsibility
• Ensure correct sizing of pumps and pipes are completed and seen through the procurement process in a timely manner
• Design pumping system and pipes layout with the assistance of Mine Planning
• Ensure timely pump installations and relocations with the assistance of Mine Planning
• Construction of pipelines – both HDPE and steel
• Maintenance and repair of pumps and pipelines
• Maintenance and repair of lighting plants
• Borehole installations and maintenance
• Construction and fabrication supervision of pontoon, float and skid systems
• Project costing, budgeting as well as procurement of pumping infrastructure
• Enforce all aspects of the company’s health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

Experience required to perform in this job
• Proven experience in open pit dewatering and workshop superintendence
• Valid driver’s license

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft office suit

Qualifications
• Mechanical/Electrical discipline
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in open pit dewatering operations
