JOB DETAILS:
Purpose
Liaise with the Instrumentation Senior Supervisor, to provide a full range of Control & Instrumentation Services to production and management teams.

Key Responsibilities
• This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Provide leadership to the Instrumentation team, ensure the FQM way and Safety awareness message is well understood, accepted & practiced.
• Instrumentation & Field Network support to the Instrumentation Team & Operations group
• Fault finding & failure analysis of all Instrumentation & Field network devices installed
• Support the continuous improvement process’s & have custodianship of the Instrument change management process & Configuration Data archives
• Efficient time management of the Instrument Team members to ensure all scheduled tasks are performed & KPI targets met or exceeded
• Develop & implement PM tasks with input from other team members, Operations personnel, Senior Supervisor & Instrumentation Superintendent
• Liaise with operations personnel at all levels in order to improve/maintain instrument accuracy & effectiveness
• Provide technical support to Operations & Maintenance teams. Actively participate in RCA investigations & failure analysis
• Good computer hardware and software computer skills (Windows 7 & Office 2010).
• Able to work under pressure.
• Fluent in English.

Qualifications
• Instrumentation or Trade qualifications in a relevant field with significant practical field experience
• Profibus certification or significant field experience

Experience
• Experience in Instrumentation management & maintenance roles
• Profibus field device, network configuration & maintenance
• Siemens or similar PLC’s, Simocode motor protection relays, variable speed drive controls & communications.
• Five years of total experience to have been in a Chemical or Mineral Processing Plant.
• Previous experience and control of conveyor systems will be an advantage.
• Previous experience of milling operation and control system on mill will be an advantage.
• Previous experience of floatation circuits essential.
• Previous experience in Thickening processes recommended.
• Exceptional skills in Field Instrumentation, maintenance, fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, preferably Citect SCADA systems will be an advantage.
