Swimming Instructor

We’re a team of professionals that seek to help revamp the hospitality industry in Zambia. Our Lodges/Resort offer Conferencing facilities, Events Venues, Accommodation (rooms), Swimming, Canoeing, Fishing, Outdoor Events hosting and Bar services. Other facilities include restaurants where meals are served to walk in or booked-in clients.

Overall purpose of the job:
• We are currently looking for a passionate Swimming Instructor to join our team of committed and hardworking workforce; To teach/coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water.

KEY ACTIVITIES/ROLES:
• Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly
• Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments
• Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential
• Planning and delivering sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer
• Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
• To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage the students
• Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress
• Ensure that participants are able to swim in a safe environment, at all times

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications/qualities:
• First aid background
• Confident and Knowledgeable Swimmer with a good Track-Record in Instructing
• A qualification in Physical Education will be an added advantage
• Previous experience working with people of all ages, especially Children
• Good communicator, perseverant and patient
• The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers
• The ability to encourage people and put them at ease
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
NOTE: A SWIMMING DEMONSTRATION WILL BE PART OF THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
