JOB DETAILS:
Reporting Structure:
• Take Away Assistant will be reporting to the Take Away Supervisor
• Take Away Supervisor will be reporting to the Store Manager & Parallel to the Head of the department.
• Department: Service Departments -Take Away
• Location: Choppies Supermarkets Limited Zambia (All Stores)

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various utensils or grillers
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortage

Academic Qualification:
• Diploma in Food Production/Catering/Hotel Management
• Candidates need to have professional qualification from a reputable Hospitality/Cooking school
• Candidates need to have previous experience in Hospitality/Restaurant/Retail food experience.
• Candidates must have at least 2 years and above experience for Take Away assistants and more than 5 years’ experience for Take Away supervisor from hospitality/restaurant/retail under deli department for same capability.
• His/her past experience should be sound enough with cooking food industry.
• He/she should stick with the industry for long (Atleast 5 years of the persons career – not every year switching to different positions and trade).
• No recruitment should happens without food trail (Practical cooking food test for assistant and supervisor too).
