1. The Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation (MWDS) has made budgetary

provisions in the 2022 budget for Consultancy services for the Feasibility Study for the Water Supply and Sanitation System for Kalumbila, Ikelenge and Mushindamo Districts.

2. The Project contains a Water Supply & Sanitation project, which shall be located in

Kalumbila, Mushindamo and Ikelenge districts of the North-Western province in Zambia. These districts are located 113 Km,123km and 340 km from Solwezi the Provincial Centre respectively, Kalumbila and Mushindamo are key mining town situated west of the Copper belt Province accounting for over 50% of Zambia's copper production. These new districts have been developing at a very rapid rate due to the advent of huge copper mining companies. The population increase in these towns has caused enormous pressure on the small existing water schemes which were developed for domestic and not commercial use.

3. Therefore, the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation (MWDS) now invites

consulting firms to submit detailed proposals to provide the Consultancy services for Feasibility Study for the Water Supply and Sanitation System for Kalumbila, Ikelenge and Mushindamo Districts. More details on the Services are provided in the Terms of Reference contained in the Request for Proposal (RFP) document.

4. It is not permissible to transfer this invitation to any other fimm.

5. A firm will be selected under Quality and Cost Based Selections (QCBS) under the Open

National Selection (ONS) procedures as specified in the Public Procurement Act No. 8 of 2020 and the Public Procurement Regulations Statutory Instrument No. 30 of 2022, detailed in the Rules and Procedures for the Use of Consultants - which can be found at the following website: www.zppa.org.zm.

6. The Request for Proposal (RFP) with Terms of Reference (ToRs) document may be

8. Proposals must be delivered to and placed in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Water

Development and Sanitation, P.O Box 50288, at the foyer of the 3 Floor, Mukuba House, Dedani Kimathi Avenue Lusaka, on or before Tuesday, 5th July, 2022 at 10:30 hours local time. Proposals must be appropriately bound, sealed and labelled (Refer to Bid Data Sheet ITB 17.4 in the RFP). Consultants are reanired to submit one (1 No original and four (4 No.) copies of their Proposals.

9. Proposals will be opened in the Conference Room at the Ministry of Water Development

and Sanitation in the presence of the bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

 LATE BIDS SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
