About Young Africa Zambia
• Young Africa (YA) Zambia is a Non-Governmental Organization that provides high quality Technical and Vocational Training, Entrepreneurship and Life skills training to vulnerable youths in Zambia between the ages of 15 to 25. Young Africa Zambia aims to empower youths with skills that will enable them acquire employment or enable them to venture into business to enable them participate in economic development. Its main objective is to contribute to a world of equality and shared wealth by empowering young people with skills of the hands to make them self – reliant, skills of the heart and mind to live with dignity, and skills of the soul to live with purpose.
Purpose of the ToT
• In an effort to improve the quality of its TVET programme, YA Zambia requires the services of a consultant to design and deliver a 5-day refresher training for its trainers of the vocational courses. The training must overall contribute to improved quality of training, record keeping and supervision of the TVET programme.
Intended outcomes
• Trainers are able to design, implement and evaluate the outcomes of their training activities
• YA Zambia has standardised tools and templates for lesson planning, lesson evaluation and learner progress recording,
• The TVET Principal & TVET Trainers have a common understanding of the tools for planning, delivery and evaluating a training programme,
• YA Zambia has an Assessment criterion for its TVET programme that aligns to TEVETA standards as well as the YA training policy,
• Trainers and TVET Principal have a shared understanding of the YA Zambia Assessment criteria for its TVET programme and are able to implement it,
• YA Zambia Trainers are able to use various adult learning approaches that are relevant and appropriate for TVET,
Duration of the consultancy [9 consulting days]
• 1/2 day inception meeting and producing inception report
• 1/2 day of reviewing the TEVETA Assessment criteria, YA Training Policy & Regulations, Curriculum standards etc,
• 2 days of planning and designing the training content & the relevant tools
• 5 days of delivering the actual training
• 1 day of producing a process and outcomes report

• Inception Report
• raining programme, content and tools to be used during and after the training
• Process report
Qualifications of Consultant
• At least an Advanced Degree in Adult Education, Curriculum Studies or related field
• Traceable experience of designing customised training programmes for teachers/TVET trainers
• At least 5 years of relevant capacity building experience
• Familiar with the TEVETA curriculum regulations in Zambia
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
