JOB DETAILS:
Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is located in the Mazabuka District, 75kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.
The Mine is a modern, world-class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified individual to take up the position of: –
1. Role: Underground Light Vehicle Operator (X1)
Reporting: Shift Boss
Job Purpose: Build shuttering walls and meet targets for all service-related works for underground operations and other areas as required. Ensures work quality is up to standard to ascertain the safety and well-being of all personnel and assets.

Responsibilities: –
• Maintain a clean and conducive work environment
• Correct use of PPE
• Pass the tests for underground drivers according to local SOP and get ticketed
• Ensure early daily material needs before staff works
• Ensuring strategic movements to move both personnel and materials safely and efficiently
• Ensure constant communication with the supervisor on duty first and to all workforce
• Understand programs, timings and execute preparatory works for most senior officials and/or visitors going underground
• Ensure all personnel are reminded about personal and environmental safety while using the vehicles for any work
• Ensure proper communication for any concerns with line-up supervisors.
• Conducting costing and time analyses related to use, storage and maintenance of vehicles and tools
• Turn-up LV for planned maintenance and services at the LVs work shop
• Report damages, faults on the LVs
• Work to identify cost improvements/ reduction approaches
• Conducting safety sensitisation for all tasks and be a brother’s keeper
• Getting correct instructions for execution
• Ensuring communication with line-up supervisor for materials, machines and equipment needs
• Feedback for proper completion of works

Skills & Qualifications: –
• At least a grade 12 school certificate
• Minimum 2-year work experience in similar and related works
• Must have valid Driver’s License
• Physically fit and able to do standing and lifting works for long hours
• Safety conscious
• Socially oriented person
• Good at interpersonal skills
• Hazard identification and control measures
