JOB DETAILS:
Health Industry
A fast-growing company specialised in medical scheme administration and employee wellness is looking to hire an experienced and result-driven Wellness Specialist to join their Health and Wellness Department. As a Wellness Specialist, he/she will be responsible for developing and implementing the Company’s Wellness business line.

JOB PURPOSE
To expand the Company’s customer base, range of products and services, nurture and enrich all external perceptions of the company, grow the market share, and ensure retained competitiveness and innovation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Maintaining a record of current national wellness initiatives and activities, sourcing wellness service providers and resources, managing relationships through service contracts
2. Undertaking research and surveys to obtain insights into underlying social determinants of health.
3. Designing workplace wellness initiatives and programs to help reduce health risks in corporate a
4. To assist the company’s clients in the planning and execution of well-being programs and activities.
5. Advocating for mental health literacy training and awareness among company clients.
6. Developing and implementing multiple criteria, procedures, and instruments for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of wellness programs.
7. Assist the marketing team in the promotion and positioning of the company as the leading health and wellness provider through marketing materials, communication assets, and promotional campaigns.
8. Undertake other company business and administrative activities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. Full Grade 12 School Certificate with at least 5 credits.
2. A bachelor’s degree in health education, psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field required; Masters or higher degree preferred.
3. Five or more years of experience in wellness program development.
4. Member of relevant professional body
5. Valid driving license

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
1. Knowledge of a broad range of wellness and fitness topics and a commitment to wellness and the promotion of life learning
2. Keep professionally current in health, wellness, and fitness research
3. Ability to establish relationships with administrators and employees to promote participation in sponsored programs, and to motivate them to set and reach health goals
4. Ability to display professionalism when dealing with employees and service providers
5. Ability to conduct benchmarking analysis, and environment and culture assessments to assist in programme development
6. Ability to create an environment that provides positive and collaborative relationships
7. Ability to maintain confidential documents and information and keep abreast of legal requirements
8. Ability to integrate wellness/fitness program initiatives into the culture and organizational mission
9. Demonstrate skills in program building, critical thinking, verbal and written communication, and computer and web-based programs
