JOB DETAILS:

Summary
Reporting to the Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) Manager, the function’s objective is to manage BIA Zambia CRC production planning including coordination in terms of manpower, tools, parts and subcontracted activities.

The key accountabilities are the following:
1. Management of medium and long term planning of Components Rebuild
2. Short term planning and day-to-day activities of the workshop from a production perspective
3. Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of jobs to optimize resources and process
4. Workshop production performance reporting & KPI

What will be your responsibilities?
Medium and Long Term planning:
1. Obtain from Project Managers, Parts and Service Sales Representative components Rebuild forecast
2. Lead production meetings whereby jobs medium term priority jobs are defined, negotiate and agree on timescales with managers
3. Successfully monitor and evaluate work progress at all times and strive to reduce backlog
4. Implement, maintain and update the Production Planning module
5. Manages parts requirements (min/max and SIOP) to the supply chain and requirement to subcontractors anticipating their workload constraint
6. Identify CRC bottlenecks and workload levelling for the long term planning
7. Propose action plan to adjust load levelling, absorb or adjust demand
8. Determine manpower, equipment and parts needed

Short Term planning & operations:
1. Schedule shifts and organise workflow
2. Prepare, update and communicate the production schedule to the workshop supervisor
3. Coordinate planning parameters and ensure that work order to be executed are properly processed in SAP with the correct allocation of resources
4. Follow-up the execution of work orders of the weekly production plan and status of each jobs until they are completed


Effectiveness and Efficiency of the CRC:
1. Participate actively and contribute to the Dealership Operation Standard, Komatsu Mining Global Support, 5S and Contamination Control audits on any part relative to the Production and planning of the operations.
2. Develop detailed plans for managing and communicating process changes
3. Together with the Workshop supervisor, QAQC manager and the training manager assess the ability of staff to complete work within the required time and propose a training plan
4. Implement improved production efficiency initiatives, systems, and techniques
5. With the participation of the procurement and CRC manager, establish and maintain subcontractors relationships

Production performance reporting & KPI:
1. Provide daily and monthly productivity report (WIP)
2. Provide medium and long term planning highlighting workload level
3. Monitor backorder reports for parts and subcontracted jobs for service timeliness
4. Prepare and submit status and performance reports in the production meeting
5. Maintaining production control records and providing weekly/monthly reports to management with regard to delivery dates, schedules, issues and operating problems
6. Monitor expenses versus budget, sales targets
7. Provide record for Waste Input Ouput (WIO) of the CRC for Carbon footprint analysis
8. Monitor the performance of subcontractors and suppliers
9. Ensure the implementation best practices with the different departments
10. Sets goals, policies, and procedures

Who are we looking for?
1. Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
2. Solid experience in Production Management of component repairs or remanufacturing
3. Some Technical knowledge on Heavy Equipment Repair or similar activity
4. IT software knowledge (pack office)
5. Proficiency in SAP
6. Experience in production management tools (i.e Gantt chart type with load leveling, resources management,…)
7. Analytical and problem solver
8. Fluent in English written and Oral with good communication skills
