JOB DETAILS:
Reporting directly to Assistant Yard Supervisor, the job holder will be responsible for overseeing and supervising Gate Operators and ensuring that all the gates are operational and fully manned by a designated Gate Operator at all times and also directing trucks to park in designated sensor areas and that proper verification, recording and validation has been done by gate operators and payment made before allowing any truck to exit.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervising Gate Operators and ensuring that all the gates are operational and fully manned by a designated Gate Operator at all times.
• Directing trucks to park in designated sensor areas and that proper verification, recording and validation has been done by gate operators and payment made before allowing any truck to exit.
• Ensuring that Gate Operators accurately record the details on the ticket and Payment
• Receipt in the log book including Exit Time & Date
• Ensuring that Gate Operators verify with the Government Official(s) as to whether the vehicle has been cleared before completing the exit voucher
• Ensuring the landline telephones are working properly in all the Gates.
o Ensuring that Gate Operators work with and be able to communicate with Ground Marshals and other Government Agencies for smooth operations
o Ensuring that Gate Operators facilitate movement of voucher duplicates to ensure they are delivered to the Data entry department periodically.
o Ensuring provision of professional & polite service to the drivers, border agencies and other border users.

Requirements
• Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Equivalent; o Minimum of 1 Year work experience in a similar environment
• Work experience in traffic / transport / logistics environment is an added advantage

Other Skills and Attributes
o Must Be Alert and physically fit to stand for long hours
o Good writing / recording skills
o Excellent communication skills (Multilingual desired) to be able to communicate with Drivers from various countries
o Basic traffic management knowledge
o Ability to multi-skill / handle multiple activities or interruptions at once.
o Ability to influence and encourage team spirit
