WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Program and Operations Coordinator is an exceptionally well-organized self-starter who manages the day-to-day office operations of the GHC Zambia office, provides fellow support throughout the fellowship year, and leads all alumni engagement efforts within the country. As the Program and Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting significant portions of GHC’s programs (including fellow coaching/curriculum implementation and alumni programming, promotion/implementation) and operations (including Office Administration/IT, fellow recruitment and selection, staff and fellow health, security and safety, logistics, and finances). Reporting to the Zambia Country Director, you will also serve as the in-country alumni lead and exercise independent judgment and discretion as you support the Country Director in executing country team strategies. The Program and Operations Coordinator will hold a critical role in the country office with extended interaction with a global close-knit, multicultural and dynamic organization.

Specifically, the Programs & Operations Coordinator will…
o Manage alumni community programming activities by helping the chapter leadership to create, design, and implement a national strategic plan.
o Develop strategies aimed at creating an engaged and active alumni community across different cohorts and locations.
o In collaboration with the Community Impact Team, manage and lead the in-country promotion of all local and global alumni events to the community.
o Lead all in-country event planning, procurement, and contracting for fellow retreats, partner meetings, and alumni events through scouting venues, soliciting bids, managing vendor relationships, and client communications, creating and negotiating contracts, and managing event budgets.
o Manage and coordinate payments and relationships with all vendors, consultants, and service providers.
o Manage the process of requesting monthly office funds from the global office, developing monthly spending reports, and keeping proper book records of financial transactions and support documents.
o Manage the budget development process for in-country alumni activities, selection, and recruitment as well as support the development of the overall GHC Zambia budget.
o Manage country office interns ensuring the personal and professional development of all interns during their tenure.
o Oversee IT equipment maintenance and other IT-related office tasks
o Oversee the annual recruitment season by developing strategies that ensure that GHC Zambia is reaching candidates with the right skills and the best fit for the fellowship program.
o Manage fellow interview schedules and ensure that fellows and alums are involved in the selection process.
o Oversee fellow selection and recruitment-related requests from the Central Admission team.
o Coordinate the onboarding process of all new fellows, support security drills; support safety and security efforts at retreats; follow up on housing-related safety and security concerns.
o Support the tracking and completion of all fellow responsibilities (stretch projects, cohort projects, speaking engagements, etc.) throughout the fellowship year.
o Support fellow coaching and curriculum implementation throughout the fellowship year by facilitating training sessions and supporting regular fellow check-ins.

o Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND BENEFITS
This role can be based in Lusaka, Zambia. You will have the opportunity to work from the office and at home. You will work with your manager to determine the details of a hybrid work schedule.
