Job description
• Drives the assigned vehicle to transport staff to their respective destinations and collect / deliver material, parcels, mail etc while observing traffic rules and regulations.
• Conducts daily pre operating check on the assigned vehicle, by checking tire pressure, oil and water levels, battery, indicators etc to confirm that vehicle is fit for service.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle and ensure that it is always kept clean, tidy and in good working condition
• Perform minor repairs and ensure other repairs are carried out properly by official manufacturer.
• Ensures regular servicing of the assigned vehicle by alerting supervisor on due service date or mileage to maintain the vehicle in sound working condition.
• Maintain neat & accurate record of all journeys in the vehicle logbook including daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes and ensure vehicle is refueled as and when required
• Reports all accidents involving an organisation vehicle under his care, to the police and makes a sketch of the position of the vehicle, take the particulars of the other vehicle and its Driver, and at the earliest opportunity reports to the supervisor.
• Parks the assigned vehicle in a safe and authorized place
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

Qualification and Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate including Mathematics and English
• Class C Driver’s license with at least 3 years traceable continuous driving preferably in an NGO, Company, or Government institutions.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.

JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
To undertake the function of Procurement from sourcing, tendering, evaluation, supplier management, relationship and expedition to ensure the organization gets value for its money.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and Duties
• Maintain a register of approved Alistair Group (AG) Road Freight Subcontractors.
• For each subcontractor, maintain a register of authorised drivers and vehicles that are graded and registered as quality approved to carry AG Cargo.
• Ensure current Terms and Conditions are continually updated and are communicated and acknowledged by the subcontractor.
• Negotiating agreements for the transportation of AG Cargo back-to-back with client/customer terms and conditions. Special attention paid to free time and demurrage agreements.
• Generate Loading Confirmation documentation for the subcontractor detailing all subcontracted transportation of AG Cargo
• Create trip folders for all subcontracted transportation of AG cargo and ensure all documentation for the project is collated and submitted to financing for trip reconciliation and invoicing.
• Comply with current micro-financing arrangements and procedures provided to subcontractors.
• Ensure subcontractor operations staff are fully aware of all transit and journey management procedures and legal requirements and ensure their compliance.
• Assist the Subcontracting Lead with conducting due diligence inspections and/or annual reviews and provide support to any resulting subcontractor development action plans.
• Assist the AG Driver Training wing to deliver any required subcontractor driver training packages or briefings.
• Provide timely feedback (daily Reports) to the subcontractor, ensuring that all delays not caused by the subcontractor are communicated clearly.
• Special attention paid to management of expectations regarding free time, potential standing charge claims, and demurrage charges..
