The Judiciary is an arm of Government established under Part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is "To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner". In order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary is inviting external applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• The successful candidates will be required to report to the Magistrate in Charge and will be responsible for the following duties:
• Undertakes adjudication of civil and criminal matters as provided by the law in order to facilitate the delivery of justice;
• Undertakes efficiently the hearing and disposal of cases in order to ensure delivery of justice.
• Undertakes efficiently the allocation of cases to other magistrates in order to ensure fair case load and dispensation of justice.
• Coordinates timely production and compilation of Station court returns in order to facilitate development of appropriate interventions.
• Manages timely development of individual and Station work plans in order to monitor and evaluate performance
• Supervises effectively the human, financial and other resources at the Station in order to facilitate smooth running of the courts.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with Five (5) credits or better including English;
• LLB Degree from a reputable institution; Basic knowledge on how to write judgements and rulings;
• Ability to communicate effectively in English;
• Possession of Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education Practitioners Qualifying Examination Certificate will be an added advantage.

• Coordinates effectively administration of Subordinate and Local Courts in the province in order to facilitate their operations Court Returns.
• Coordinates timely production and compilation of provincial court returns in order to facilitate development of appropriate interventions
• Case Allocation. Undertakes efficiently the allocation of cases to other magistrates in order to ensure fair case load and dispensation of justice
• Performance Management. Manages timely development of individual and provincial work plans in order to monitor and evaluate performance
