Position Summary
The Customs Clearance Officer will be based in Lusaka, Zambia and is primarily responsible for drafting letters, applying for permissions to various bodies and individuals involved and producing all authorization letters as and when asked for by the Government bodies.

Core Duties
Representing the company in customs clearance process
Issuing customs documents, keeping records of relevant documents
Communication with customs
Working with specialized customs software
Responsible for related administrative tasks.
Procure the necessary documents at customs that will authorize the customs clearance of cargo or goods of their company.
Arrange customs inspections as may be required for each cargo type under section by law of representative country.
Process Duty and VAT payments as applicable for any consignment or cargo due for custom clearance.
Apply for refunds where applicable

Qualifications/Experience/Skills
Minimum of Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding Management
Must be licensed/accustomed with the local customs authorities, border agencies, port authorities and directives.
Good working knowledge of MS Office and Excell
3 Years previous experience in the field of customs clearance
Time flexibility
Reliable, careful and responsible

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: Postgraduate Degree
