Fundraising Officer/Consultant
Prisoners’ Future Foundation (PFF) is a local non-governmental organization duly registered in the Republic of Zambia under the NGO Act of 2009. The organization was formed to look into the welfare of serving and former inmates, including citizens who, though un-convicted, have come in contact with the criminal justice system.
Prisoners’ Future Foundation (PFF) has been implementing a project, supported by the European Union and the Federal Government of the Republic of German, under the Programme for Legal Empowerment and Enhanced Justice Delivery (PLEED), from 1st August, 2017. This project is aimed at promoting prison human rights awareness, legal education, advice and assistance through paralegal services at Ndola Remand, Kamfinsa Male and Female Correctional Facilities for both Convicts and Remandees.
PFF is in the process of developing a sustainability plan for the project in question to support its activities after October 2019. To this end, PFF is looking for an experienced Fundraising Officer/Consultant to grow its financial resources for the purposes of sustaining the project. This person will be responsible for identifying funding streams, and building relationships with prospective foundations, corporations, and individual donors. .
Main responsibilities
Deliver a fundraising strategy and be responsible for working with management to drive that strategy to bring in new funding for the project
• Identify and research a range of grant making trusts, foundations, and scope the range of relevant funding opportunities
• Identify prospective donors
• Identify diverse templates of different donors
Build and maintain relationships with partners, corporates, foundations, and individuals to generate financial resources to sustain the project
• Initiate and build relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors
• Draft funding proposals and pitch documents aimed at successfully generating new income
• Manage and track donor information, and develop a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors
• Manage a corporate fundraising strategy and work to continue the development of key corporate relationships and corporate support for the project.
• Invite stakeholders such as government, foundations and multilateral organizations during fundraising events in pursuit of our fundraising goals
Assist in developing communication materials aimed at visibility and fundraising
• Help to create a wide range of tailored materials (including funding proposals and visibility documents) aimed at successfully generating new income
• Initiate social media fundraising campaigns, develop supporter newsletters, and maximize communication and visibility potential
• Manage key visibility and fundraising events, maximizing stakeholder engagement and growing income
• Assist management in finding partners and sponsors for the contract period
• Lead fundraising and income generation for the project (Social enterprising).
• Create a database and calendar for different funding cirles

What you bring
• A proven track record of success (3-5 years) in fundraising, development finance, and partnership building
• Extensive knowledge of, and connections in, the Zambian philanthropic community
• Ability to work with management and board members to cultivate and expand corporate, foundation, and major donor giving
• Solid strategic thinking, planning and implementing skills
• Brilliant writing, with a strong sense of detail
• Highly-motivated, confident communicator with the ability to manage relationships
• Experience working with international NGOs is advantageous
• Digital literacy, high-level computer skills, and familiarity with all social media platforms
• Recognized Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Job application procedure
The Fundraising Consultant will be employed from July 2019 to October 2019, on a full time basis. She/he will report to, and work closely with, the Executive Director and management team. At the end of the five-month initial engagement period, achievements will be reviewed to ascertain if the approaches used have been successful and sustainable.
