Women’s Initiative for Delivering Clean Energy to Africa (WidEnergy Africa Ltd), is a women – led company, registered in Zambia, dedicated to the last mile distribution of clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions. Our objective is to provide last-mile renewable energy solutions and to empower African women to become champions in clean energy distribution and active agents for climate change. The mission of WidEnergy is to provide energy to the 72 percent of Zambians in areas without access to electricity.

In order to implement its business strategy, WidEnergy Africa Ltd needs at least one feature phones supplier and logistical services (transporter) to distribute WidEnergy’s portfolio of products to service centers around the country.

An overview/key expectation to of the feature phones to be supplied should meet the following requirement outlined below:

a.) Required feature phones specifications:
i. Radio
ii. Touch
iii. Colour screen
iv. Basic camera

WidEnergy Africa Ltd would only consider the suppliers meeting the following key requirements:
• Tax compliant;
• Possess valid trading license;
• Have tax payer identification number (TPIN) or are VAT-registered; and
• At least 4 years’ experience business.

Prospective mobile phones suppliers should submit the following documents along with the application:
i. Corporate profile showing ownership structure. This should be supported by CVs of key team members, registered address, and contact coordinates.
ii. Certified copy of taxpayer identification number, or the VAT registration number.
iii. Valid business trading license.
iv. Appropriate documents to demonstrate relevant current and past experience. Provide at least two professional references.
v. Certifications of being a distributor of a reliable phone manufacturing company with warranty documentations is an added advantage.
vi. A ZICTA certificate for mobile phones that are not popular may be required.

Interested distributors should send an official letter expressing their interest to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer, or by email to info@widernegyafrica.com or no later than 5th of June, 2021.
