The Hunger Project Zambia (THP – Zambia), is a branch of the Global Hunger Project, a non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. Our mission is to end hunger and poverty by pioneering sustainable, grassroots, women-centered strategies and advocating for their widespread adoption in countries throughout the world. THP-Zambia has been operating in Zambia since 2019 and is currently implementing an Epicenter Community Led Development project in Vubwi District of Eastern Province. The epicenter strategy in Zambia is co-created and is being implemented with partner NGOs.
Accounts Assistant Officer – Lusaka based Reporting to the Head of Finance & Administration (HOFA); .

Responsibilities:
• To verify and validate arithmetic accuracy and budgetary compliance of all funds requests;
• Prepare payment requests for all activities and issue payments, as well as ensure timely liquidation of funds and banking all un-used funds
• Record payments into the general ledger
• Maintain petty cash- book
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare Quarterly and financial reports for review by HOFA
• Assist HOFA during annual audits
• Any other duties assigned by the Country Director

Qualifications
• Self-starting Accountancy/administration Graduate with Excellent Numerical, Spread-Sheet and Communication skills or
• Diploma in Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Business Management
• Minimum Required: 3 years in finance or similar role
• Proficiency with Spreadsheets, and advance knowledge of Excel is required;
