Open Teaching Positions
1. ICT Teacher
The ICT Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in Information and Communication Technology. The role includes:
- Teaching fundamental and advanced ICT concepts, including programming, networking, database management, and cybersecurity.
- Developing lesson plans that integrate modern technology and digital tools to enhance student learning.
- Providing hands-on training in computer applications, coding, and software development.
- Preparing students for ICT-related examinations and certifications.
- Keeping up with the latest technological advancements and incorporating them into the curriculum.
- Ensuring proper maintenance and usage of ICT equipment in the school.
2. Biology & Chemistry Teacher
The Biology & Chemistry Teacher will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive lessons in both subjects while fostering scientific curiosity. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching key biological and chemical concepts with a focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Designing and conducting laboratory experiments to help students understand theoretical concepts through practical applications.
- Encouraging scientific research and inquiry-based learning among students.
- Preparing students for national and international science examinations.
- Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
- Keeping up to date with advancements in science education and integrating them into teaching.
3. Mathematics & Physics Teacher
The Mathematics & Physics Teacher will be responsible for helping students develop analytical and problem-solving skills. The role includes:
- Teaching mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics with a focus on real-life applications.
- Delivering engaging physics lessons covering topics such as mechanics, electricity, magnetism, and thermodynamics.
- Conducting laboratory experiments and practical demonstrations to enhance understanding.
- Helping students develop critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
- Preparing students for internal and external examinations, ensuring they master subject content.
- Keeping track of student progress and providing personalized support where necessary.
4. Religious Education / History / Geography Teacher
The teacher in this category will be responsible for guiding students in understanding moral values, historical perspectives, and geographical concepts. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching Religious Education with a focus on ethics, religious beliefs, and moral reasoning.
- Delivering History lessons that encourage critical analysis of historical events, their causes, and their impact on society.
- Teaching Geography by covering topics such as physical and human geography, map reading, and environmental studies.
- Encouraging discussion and debate to develop students’ critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Incorporating relevant teaching materials, case studies, and real-world examples to enhance student engagement.
- Preparing students for examinations and assessments.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject from a reputable university.
- A minimum of three years teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Experience teaching exam-prep classes, including national and international curricula.
- Registered with TCZ (Teaching Council of Zambia).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
