About The Job

  • We are looking for a skilled Senior Account who will oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage accounting processes, and provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with ZRA tax requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Tax.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies for statutory audits and compliance matters.
  • Budgeting & Financial Planning
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with recommendations.
  • Support strategic financial decision-making by providing accurate reports and insights.
  • Accounts Management
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
  • Internal Controls & Risk Management
  • Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and best practices.
  • Payroll & Tax Administration
  • Supervise payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timely disbursement.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure timely remittances to ZRA.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial and tax regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA certification preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Zambian tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent analytical and financial management skills
  • A member of ZICA
  • Zambia Qualifications Authority validated qualifications
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency skills in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under minimal or no supervision.
  • Good organisation skills and attention to details.
