On behalf of our clients, Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Accountant (Credit Control).
Reports to: Branch Manager_ Copperbelt Region

Job Purpose:
To undertake general accounting and credit control functions in order to enhance collection of funds, shrink non- performing accounts, improve financial inflows and accountability of company revenue.

Responsibilities
Books of Accounts
• Coordinates timely and accurately the maintenance of books of accounts in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information
Credit Analysis and Management
• Undertake Implementation of recovery plans and manage the debt recovery process.
• Aid with development of Credit Control Policy.
• Recommend for Approval and Disapproval of credit based purchase applications after a thorough credit check.
Recoveries
• Undertakes timely recoveries of outstanding payments, penalties, interests in order to minimize defaults.
• Oversee the handing over of disputed /defaulting customers to company lawyers, spear head repossession process and ensure recoveries.
Receipting and banking
• Supervises and undertakes timely updating of payment receipts/Bank deposits in appropriate physical & ERP client files and availability of back-up information for customers.
Collections & Recoveries Records
• Undertakes timely and accurately the maintenance of client books of accounts with the law firm/pay points in order to facilitate efficient storage and updated retrieval of information, ensuring rectification of existing discrepancies / deficiencies in client outstanding amounts.
Audit queries
• Undertake effectively preparation of responses to internal &external audit queries in order to facilitate decision making.
Unit Financial Reports
• Undertake timely preparation of Credit Unit financial reports in order to facilitate decision making. Ensure printing of Aged Debtors/Nonperforming Accounts Trial Balance as required.
Credit Performance Management
• Monitor the status of Debtors/Nonperforming Accounts records to ensure that they reflect an accurate position and issue reminders and other mechanisms to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
Customer Relations & Marketing
• Initiate customer vetting and evaluate new customer applications for Purchases. Attending to customer queries on balances and Reconciliation of Client Accounts. Negotiating financial transactions and preparing transactions for documentation within limits of authority.
Financial Reports
• Undertakes timely preparation of financial reports in order to facilitate decision making

Job Requirements
• ACCA LV1/ Diploma/ F1
• ZICA Technician / or other relevant Accountancy field.
• Must Have at Least 3 Years’ Experience.
• Experience in Accountancy (credit control) duties in the Real Estate / Construction/Property Sales industry will be an added advantage though not mandatory.
• A strong ownership mentality with traceable performance in credit control (NPAs prevention & Reduction).
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• Must have excellent self-organizational and leadership ability
• Analytical mind able to interact with and generate usable ERP performance inform for ease of decision making.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
