JOB DETAILS:
Wah Kong Enterprises Limited is one of the most reputable Chinese Contractors in Zambia. We are looking for an assistant safety officer to be based in Manyinga North-Western Province, Zambia.
Below are the duties and qualification.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
I. Implement approved safety plans and programs on site and monitor employees’ compliance with safety policies.
II. Support in planning and promoting safety programs and conduct periodic assessments to identify program deficiencies.
III. Assist in conducting safety drills in line with approved schedule.
IV. Evaluate hazardous conditions and recommend engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or use of personal protective equipment.
V. Perform or assist with accident investigations as required and ensure prompt communication of recommendations to all concerned parties.
VI. Support in the execution of approved corrective action to prevent future incidents.
VII.Provide information to Compensation Administrators for timely processing of compensation benefits for injured individuals.
VIII. Maintain complete and accurate records of safety activities and accident occurrences, and develop periodic reports to determine safety trends and needs.
IX. Collect, analyses and maintain data essential for effective safety programs.
X. Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with other employees, officials, external organizations, and representatives of Local, State, and Federal agencies.
XI. Perform other tasks as assigned by Safety Coordinator.

Qualifications
I. Diploma/Degree or its equivalent in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment.
II. Membership of relevant safety institute.
III. Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience.
