Inkomoko Entrepreneur Development is business consulting firm that works with micro, small, and medium enterprises in Rwanda to develop powerful strategies to increase their profits, help them grow, and create jobs. Our services help our clients develop and improve their capacity. Founded in 2012, Inkomoko identifies Rwandan and refugee entrepreneurs and provides them with trusted advisors, practical services, technology tools, and affordable capital, so that they can grow their businesses and create jobs for others. In 2018 Inkomoko is working with 1800 entrepreneurs in Rwanda, including hundreds of Congolese and Burundian refugees who are creating businesses in Rwanda.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Inkomoko seeks a highly talented and experienced Business Development Advisor to work directly with our entrepreneur clients. The Business Development Advisor will join a growing start-up team with core responsibilities as follows:
STRATEGIC ADVISING & CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (50%)
- Assist clients to implement business recommendations and support to navigate challenges, make sound business decisions, and achieve business/growth goals.
- Regularly communicate with assigned clients & conduct site visits as needed to keep clients engaged and deliver contracted services.
- Act as internal champion for clients to ensure Inkomoko consistently delivers high-quality services and meets client expectations.
- Connect clients to other Inkomoko services, as appropriate.
- Develop and implement strong financial and booking systems for clients.
- Manage assigned camp clients and insure service delivery
BUSINESS ASSESSMENT & TRAINING (30%)
- Conduct site visits and client interviews to fully understand business needs, challenges, and opportunities; provide business recommendations based on their strength and weaknesses.
- Supervise the camp coordinator or Business Analyst in developing cash flows and profitability analysis based on client input
- Keep up to date on latest business and industry trends in Rwanda and across East Africa.
- Using Inkomoko curriculum provide training to camp and urban based clients
- Participate in capacity building workshops on a range of topics related to business growth, including HR, accounting, finance, marketing, human centered design and innovation
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (20%)
- Regularly track and report on progress of client work and deliverables.
- Coordinate & communicate effectively with colleagues across projects and departments
- Maintain and organize client files on Google Drive
- Work with the Business Development Manager and Executive team to develop annual goals for Inkomoko
- Assist Inkomoko and AEC management in Micro-Business Solutions Department, including training, and expansion initiatives.
- Work with the Business Development Manager and Executive team to develop annual goals for Inkomoko
- Contribute to staff meetings, annual retreats, monthly meetings.
- Participation in on-going client tracking and implementing Inkomoko’s impact evaluation programs every 6 months

The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:
- 3+ years of work experience in relevant or applicable field
- Experience in consulting, business planning, and providing business advice
- Strong financial and accounting skills; familiarity with Rwanda’s tax & financial policies
- Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Excel and Word
- Proven experience in entrepreneurship
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Good presentation and training skills
- Shows perseverance, personal integrity, and critical thinking skills
- Must speak fluent English and Kinyarwanda; French and Swahili are an added advantage
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting or related field
Willingness to travel around the country from time to time, in line with the job needs Organizational Cultural qualifications.
