JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
To act as a focal point of contact with local communities and leaders to build effective communication, enhance relationships, and ensure high-quality community service to achieve agreed goals.
Principle Accountabilities
• Engage with local leaders, general community members, traditional leadership, and cooperatives on specific issues.
• Facilitate conversations and mediation between relevant community members.
• Utilize negotiation and conflict resolution skills to resolve issues
• Assist with logging community development requests
• Keep updated records of communities in recommended knowledge management system
• Attend and record community meetings and engage relevant stakeholders as and when need arises.
• Communicate with communities in a manner that maintains a good corporate image for the company in line with company principles of legitimacy, trust, and integrity.
• Maintain consistent and measured communication with relevant stakeholders on CR projects, adhering to Kagem’s established communication protocols.
• Keep a detailed record of community members, local leaders and people representing the community projects and changes in these structures,
• Manage the administration and maintenance of the community grievance register/database.
• Coordinate the collection and analysis of community grievances and facilitate the dissemination of feedback regarding actions taken or the reasons for inaction.
• Coordinate and manage outreach activities related to the OGM, including awareness-raising and sensitization meetings with diverse target communities.
• Report grievances to line manager and assist to formulate management reports on grievances.
Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field or in any social science
• 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar capacity
• Must possess leadership and management skills.
• Good mobilising and coordinating skills.
• Good interpersonal Skills
• Good command of both oral and written communication
• Possession of good leadership skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Good computer literacy skills
• Good command of English and one local language.
• Must be in possession of a valid driver’s licence.
