General Information:

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF LUSAKA (ISL) invites expressions of interest from experienced and potential service providers through e-tenders under two bid systems, i.e. Technical Bid and Financial Bid, to run a Tuck Shop that can provide cafeteria services for the students, employees, and visitors of ISL at the ISL Campus along Nangwenya Road, Rhodespark, Lusaka.

The school will provide covered space of Size on an “as is where is basis” for which the service provider has to pay Monthly Rent and other incidental charges like electricity, gas, etc. for the same as quoted in the Financial Bid of the tender document for running the tuck shop purpose.

Interested agencies may visit the institute site by appointment during office hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to preview the area allotted for the tuck shop before filling out the tender documents.

Key points on the tuckshop operation are as follows:

• All staff must read and understand the staff code of conduct and attend mandatory safeguarding training to ensure a safe school environment. The training will be provided by the school.
• The operating hours during school days will be from 7:00 am to16:00 pm
  The tuckshop will remain closed during school holidays unless otherwise agreed upon with the school for holiday programs.
• Student lunchtime is scheduled from 11:20 am to 12:00 pm, though this timing may vary from year to year. The bidder should be able to set pre-order times and deadlines to ensure timely preparation and service for lunch.
• The school regularly hosts sports tournaments or scheduled events over weekends. During these events, the tuckshop may be requested to remain open to sell refreshments, based on the school’s needs.
• The school also holds ad hoc events, such as board meetings and staff meetings, for which the tuckshop will have the opportunity to bid to provide catering services.

Eligibility:

• The Agency/Firm should have experience of at least 02 (two) years of running a TuckShop/Canteen/Eatery/Hotel/Restaurant/Café etc., in a fixed place (Not in a mobile/Movable Van/Vehicle, etc.,) which provides snacks, starters, tiffin items, hot and cold beverages, bakery items, fast food items, etc.,
• The firm should have a requisite shop and establishment registration Certificate for doing the existing business and must have experience working with an online ordering system.
• A Valid Food License issued by the Competent Authority of Zambia in the name of the firm/shop.
• Should possess requirements such as Tax (ZRA), PACRA, Halal friendly certificate, Council Licence, Heath license, etc
• EOI document shall be submitted in “Two parts” i.e., (Technical and Financial Bid) for running the tuck shop at ISL, initially for two years from the date of entering into the Agreement and further extendable for one more year based on satisfactory services, to be decided by the competent authority of ISL from time to time.

No account can be taken of any reservation in the tender in respect of the procurement documents; any disagreement, contradiction, alteration, or deviation shall lead to the tender offer not being considered any further. Prospective tenderers must submit their response to this tender online, at bids@isl.sch.zm, by completing the prescribed tender response format.

Prospective bidders take full responsibility for submitting their electronic tender response (offer) well before the tender submission deadline. Tender offers must be sent before the deadline for submission of offers, that is, tenders in transit upon tender submission deadline will be rejected.
