Primary purpose of the job
This is a field-based position and forms the front line for strategy implementation to unlock economic potential of smallholders. The primary function of this position is to develop and implement field level operational and activity plans and budgets; to recruit, select and build Farm Business Advisors (FBA) capacities to sustainably and competitively deliver critical last mile support services to viable smallholder farmers and achieving desired impact and scale within targeted communities. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Field Office (FO) level operational and activity planning and implementation
• Facilitate and support the development of functional and supportive market linkages and relationships between private sector partners and tiered FBAs.
• Build technical and entrepreneurial capacity and skills of the FBAs.
• Competitively select and recruit best fit FBA candidates to deliver identified services to farmers in targeted communities /zones.

  Job Qualifications:
• Education: A diploma in agriculture, business or equivalent rural economic development related discipline.
• Experience: At least five years’ experience working in an agricultural extension or outreach capacity.
• A good understanding of the concept of “Farming as a Business” and developing micro to small enterprises
• A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, adhering to deadlines and used to meeting targets.
• Knowledge of market -based approaches to development work, entrepreneurship development, value chain analysis is an added advantage.
• Valid motor bike riders license
