JOB DETAILS:
The Mulungushi International Conference Centre Limited (MICCL) a member of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Group of Companies invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the position of FINANCE MANAGER.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE
To be accountable for the financial management of the company including the development of financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and to report accurate financial results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Budgeting
• Provides financial guidance in the formulation of the company annual budget;
• Participates in developing the budget and financial planning of the Company;
• Tracks financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
Operations
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
• Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
• Ensures business modeling and forecasting is undertaken
• Ensures that research on factors influencing business performance is conducted and properly reported
• Ensures that pricing and competitor analysis are undertaken.
• Developing complex finance models.
Creditors
• Ensures that creditors reconciliations are done before payment are made
• Ensuring that pricing on supplier invoices are correct and that invoices comply with
ZRA requirements
• Ensures that intercompany Creditor Accounts are reconciled
• Approves foreign payment applications
• Ensures that monthly Supplier Ageing report match Trial Balance
• Ensures that monthly Supplier Spend report is accurate
General Ledger
• Ensures debtors, creditors and cashbook ledgers reconcile to the general ledger
• Verify Instalment Sales Agreement Schedule
• Ensures that Fixed Assets Schedule is maintained.
Risk Management
• Understands and mitigates key elements of the company’s risk profile
• Constructs and monitors reliable control systems
• Maintains appropriate insurance coverage
• Ensures that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
• Maintains relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Service Level Agreements
• Reviews SLA agreements with MICCL clients and recommending changes pertaining to financial input and legislation.

Banking
• Monitors bank balances.
• Creates and maintains the creditor database on online banking system.
• Captures payments with first release functionality.
• All business banking administration, (electronic and manual)- opening, closing and maintaining accounts and signatories.
• Final Bank Release function for salaries and payments
• Final review of the monthly payroll before release

Taxation
• Ensures that the company complies with all tax laws, rules, regulations, etc in relation to the business.
• Ensures Income Tax compliance and submission of returns.
• Ensures Vat compliance and submission of returns.
• Oversee the efficient and effective operations of the Centre in line with the vision of the Shareholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Full Grade twelve (12) certificate with credits or better including English and Mathematics
• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or equivalent
• ACCA/CIMA/CA
• Master’s degree in business administration will be an added advantage.
• Not less than seven (7) years of experience at a similar position in an organisation of similar size.
• Professional work experience in MICE industry will be added advantage.
