JOB DETAILS:
Reporting to: Executive Director
Duration of Assignment: Three (03) weeks
Overall purpose:
To improve Afya Mzuri financial systems, operations and procedures .

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. BASIS OF COST SHARED EXPENSES – To analyze the basis for administration of shared costs, Review the cost-sharing policy and schedules in alignment with the donor requirements.
2. PAYROLL MANAGEMENT – To review and advise on the monthly timesheets (time cards) or labour distribution report, medical policies and staff leave days’ payments. Review the Dove payroll set-up.
3. PROJECT AND MANAGEMENT REPORTS – To review the designed classes of funding Partners in the Accounting Systems and insert project budgets. Review project budgets and implementation in the system.
4. NON CURRENT ASSETS MANAGEMENT – Review current and design a non-current Asset register. 5. CASH AND BANK ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT- Establish petty cash systems and procedures.
6. TO EFFECTIVELY ORIENT FINANCE TEAM IN THE USE OF THE ABOVE SYSTEMS ACCORDINGLY.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. A Master’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business management or a related filed is required.
2. At least qualified Accountant holding CA – Zambia, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACAA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or any other qualifications recognised by the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
3. At least 10 years of accounting experience.
4. Demonstrate leadership skills with experience in financial management preferably with an NGO multi donor environment setup.
5. Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
6. In-depth knowledge of USAID financial management rules and regulations and reporting.
7. In-depth knowledge of USAID financial management rules and regulations and reporting.
8. Good working knowledge of local labour laws and policy interpretation and training in areas of accounting financial management.
9. Advanced skills in budgeting and financial reporting.
10. Experience in the use of accounting packages (pastel and QuickBooks preferred) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft word and excel.
11. Must be a senior member of ZICA at Fellow or Associate levels.
