JOB DETAILS:
In quest of excellence a reputable Private School in Lusaka is looking for a conscientious, warm, reliable dedicated , experienced , enthusiastic and qualified person for the role of School Girls Hostel Matron.

Job Expectations
Manage, administer and supervise all aspects of the Girls Boarding Section at a renowned school in Lusaka

Specific Duties
1. Ensure that student welfare, health and safety is maintained as a priority
2. Act as a suitable role model to students and other boarding staff.
3. Plan and implement the termly budget for the boarding house including the menu (with the Head chef) and a work plan.
4. Ensure that a healthy and nutritious menu is developed and implemented using fresh and good quality foods within the agreed budget.
5. Ensure that the boarding house supplies are adequate to enable to boarding house to function effectively at all times.
6. Organize recreational, sport and other team building and social events for students
7. Develop, implement and uphold a code of conduct for students.
8. To enforce the disciplinary code and keep suitable records of rule breakers and the sanctions administered.
9. To ensure a log is kept of significant daily occurrences in the hostel and to monitor this log daily.
10. To carry out regular checks of the hostels and ensure that the highest levels of hygiene and order are maintained
11. To ensure that counseling and support for the students is in place when required.
12. To organize and timetable suitable activities for boarding students during evenings and weekends, prioritizing academic work at key points in the school year.
13. To timetable and supervise Prep times ensuring that prep is effective and attended by students.
14. To hold regular, calendared boarding staff meetings and provide minutes to the Head Teacher.
15. Appraise the Head Teacher and staff on relevant matters happening in the boarding section and on matters relating to the boarding students.

Qualifications
• Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ Levels and minimum of a Diploma in Psychology and ,or Social Sciences or any related field.
• Minimum of three years of parental experience in a learning environment. Should be able to work under pressure and work beyond normal working hours including weekends.
• The applicant should also have an interest in learners’ affairs holistically and spiritually. Must have three traceable references
