Job Title: Operations and Assurance Lead - ECA (1687)

The Tearfund East and Central Africa team is looking for an Operations and Assurance Lead, based within region. The role will provide support to the East and Central Africa team and country office teams particularly in the area of Support Function oversight (eg; Human Resources, Logistics, I.T., Communications, Finance) and Compliance (including Tearfund's own internal processes, Safeguarding and donor regulations) and will liaise closely with colleagues in Finance, Human Resources, Logistics, Operations and Assurance.
This will be a key role during a period of change in Tearfund's International Group and the post holder will support the set up of a new Cluster Office in the East and Central Africa region (spanning 6 countries).

This is an exciting position which will give you the opportunity to be involved in the following areas:

• Corporate policy and compliance support
  
• Logistics support
  
• Finance and Human Resource Management support
  Safeguarding
  
• Financial and donor auditing
  
• Disaster response surge support
  
• The post-holder will need to be available travel to the region, including to provide start up or surge support functions in the event of Tearfund starting new significant humanitarian responses in the East and Central Africa region.
  

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a management position implementing oversight of Support and Compliance Functions in both humanitarian and development environments
  
• Experience in auditing adherence with compliance systems and donor reporting
  
• Proven ability of working effectively in teams from multicultural contexts
  
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  
• Experience in coaching and capacity building the team
  
• Fluent English language skills plus a preference for a working knowledge of the French language.
  
• The ability to work in fast moving environment and comfortable with constant change

All posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues.

Please note: This role requires frequent travel of up to 20 weeks a year to the following countries: The Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Burundi. It is essential that the successful candidate will have the ability to travel to all 6 countries.

The successful candidate will need to have the right to live and work within one of the 6 countries in Tearfund's East and Central Africa region team (i.e.; The Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Burundi)
