JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the Northwestern region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km southwest of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Plumber.

Role Summary
Reporting to the Mechanical supervisor, your duties will include but not limited to the following;

Responsibilities
• Reading and interpreting blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Fitting and repairing various household appliances.
• Cutting, welding, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
• Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
• Handling customer queries and responding to call outs.
• design and inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure they comply with regulatory codes
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems.
• Preparing cost estimates.
• Able to work independently and solve problems as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Possess strong technical skills, be a master at troubleshooting and a team player

Experience & Qualifications
• Full Grade 12 School certificate
• Craft certificate in plumbing and sheet meta
• 2+ years of experience as a plumber
• Valid member of EIZ Practicing license.
• Valid driving License -Able to drive manual transmission vehicle
• Good working knowledge of water supply, heating, sewer, and ventilation systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and using plumbing tools.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and patience.
