Sales Officer – Southern Regional

Key Responsibilities
• Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan to support the growth of the Southern Region.
• Meets sales financial objectives by:
• Forecasting requirements;
• Initiating corrective actions.
• Achieves sales operational objectives by:
• Contributing sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews;
• Preparing and completing action plans;
• Implementing productivity, quality, and standards;
• Resolving problems;
• Identifying trends;
• Meeting regional sales targets.
• Implementing change
• Maintains and expands customer base by:
• Counselling Team Leaders and sales representatives;
• Building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
• Understanding consumer needs and trends;
• Tracking competitors.
• Marketing:
• Planning and coordination of marketing activity related to the sales of products throughout Southern region (Lusaka, Eastern, Southern, Western and Central Provinces)
• Developing an effective working relationship with key stakeholders within the respective areas.
• Developing marketing programs and sales strategies designed to increase the sale of products.
Training:
• Conducts product training with new and existing sales team members.
People Management:
• Ensure that the sales team clearly understand their targets and meet or exceed sales targets
• Foster a high-performance culture within the sales team
• Identify problem areas in the performance outputs of the sales team and manage where necessary
• Develop and build a productive working relationship with the sales team, as well as owners of venues from which Field Sales Agents will generate sales & leads
• Ensure that the teams have the operational infrastructure (e.g. tablets, stationery, application forms, uniform, name badges, etc.) required to operate efficiently
• Train and guide sales team to consistently deliver quality customer experiences to existing and prospective Hollard Life clients, in an ever-changing field environment
• Assist team members and hold them accountable for scheduling work rosters and shift allocations for Field Sales Agents (where necessary), to ensure enough capacity to achieve daily sales targets
• Ensure that the sales team comply with Hollard Life corporate identity (appropriate and clean uniform, name badges, professional presentation of self, etc.)
• Monitor and analyse team member performance data (sales, customer queries, sales applications, sales quality, productivity, compliance,) daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Collect, check, sign-off and deliver sales applications to the data capturing team at the designated areas (where applicable) and coordinate these activities with team.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly meetings with team members to discuss performance, document these sessions.
• Work in conjunction with the management team to source profitable venues for Field Sales Agents to work in.
• Submit monthly reports on sales & lead generation performance for Field Sales Teams vs. Target
• Conduct performance reviews for sales staff, coach and institute performance counselling if required
• Uphold the Hollard brand always and ensure that the entire sales team do the same.

Required qualifications
• Grade 12 certificate
• Diploma in insurance or Marketing
• Must be residents of Lusaka
• 3 to 5 years’ appropriate business experience in the designated area within which the role will be performed
• Experience in sales leadership roles (financial services, banking or insurance will be advantageous)
