Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager of Protection Services (Outside Operations) is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational deployment of security services at the Kagem Mining Limited site. This role encompasses the management of static guarding, vehicle patrol teams, access control gate operations, the Canine unit, and police deployments. A key focus is placed on ensning Health and Safety compliance, conducting security risk assessments, and formulating, reviewing, and implementing Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, the Senior Manager is accountable for the management, development, and training of the operational teams, as well as controlling and managing the allocated operational budget.

Principle Accountabilities
• Promote and ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards across all seminity operations.
• Conduct regular Health and Safety audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies
• Stay updated with the latest security threats and adapt security protocols accordingly.
• Oversee and coordinate the deployment of static guards, vehicle patrol teams, access control gate operations, Canine units, and police presence
• Ensure all security operations are effectively managed and meet the set performance standards.
• Formulate, review, and implement SOPs for all areas of responsibility
• Ensure all team members are trained and compliant with SOPs.
• Create a reliable and strong intelligence & information network.
• Implements effective and efficient procedures and methods for secure stocage and transit of emeralds from the production points to the high-risk facilities.
• Maintain relationships with local and state law enforcement and other related government agencies to ensure sound relationships and maximum security in operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operational security teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvenient
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities
• Develop and manage the operational budget for outside operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
• Monitor expenses and report on bedget performance, identifying and addressing any variances with HOD Protection Services

Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 certificate
• Diplons/Degree in any Administration discipline/Degree in any related discipline.
• Applicable security certification.
• Should have served as an officer in Military or police service for at least 5 years
• 5 years’ experience in security operations management with at least 3 years at senior management level preferably in mining sector
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale security opentions, including static guarding, vehicle patrols, and access control.
• Experience in conducting security risk assessments and implementing SOPS
• Proven track record in managing budgets and leading diverse security teams Computer literary
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices and Health and Satery regulations.
• Excellent analytical and evaluation skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Good understanding of the current security legal frameworks.
• Proficiency in security technology and systems
• Proficient in report writing and computer skills.
