JOB DETAILS:

JOB PURPOSE
To conduct tests and provide analytical data and related information in Chemistry Testing laboratories and in any other fields deemed competent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to Laboratory Analyst - Chemistry and Microbiology
• Perform laboratory and field test work as required in accordance with approved test methods and procedures.
• Competent in the following laboratory equipment and techniques: Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, Inductively Coupled Plasma-Orbital Emission Spectroscopy and Near Infra-Red.
• Prepare standard reference materials and ensure their proper labeling, storage and use.
• Carry out sampling and sample preparation in accordance with approved procedures.
• Carry out appropriate checks and tests to ensure the accuracy of test results.
• Comply with established procedures and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents and ensure a healthy and safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum of Diploma in Laboratory Science/ Chemistry or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Science/ Chemistry or related field will be an added advantage
• 3 years' work experience in a busy Chemistry or Food Science Laboratory
• Knowledge and Training in ISO17025:2017 is a must


Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: Associate Degree
