JOB DETAILS:
In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:

23.0 BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST – GRADE ZRA05 (2 POSITIONS) ANALYTICS DEPARTMENT

A. PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Business Intelligence Manager, ITE/DT, the job holder as a Business Domain Expert will be responsible for Data Analytics for Customs, Indirect Taxes & Excise, Direct Taxes and/or Investigations and will be working closely with data scientists and analysts and statisticians

B. MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Advising on business rules and processes pertaining to area of expertise in the holistic analysis of taxpayers’ compliance across Customs, Indirect Taxes & Excise and Direct Taxes;
• Performing business intelligence analysis for the assigned business area;
• Acting as a liaison between the Analytics Services Centre and the business units, s/he manages the flow of insights/intelligence from the ASC to the business units, auditors and investigation;
• Advising Data Analytics project teams on the current use of information in the business functions and on the applicable data transformations and business rules;
• Providing support in understanding the information and further clarity on business analytics requirements; and
• Applying and interpreting statistical models using expertise in the given business subject area.

C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent;
• University Degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or Data/Actuarial Science;
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant post-qualifying work experience in ZRA operating divisions (Customs, Indirect Taxes & Excise and Direct Taxes);
• Experience in Basic data manipulation with excel and SQL and data visualisation with Power BI; and
• Conversant with statistical and data analysis tools such as Stata, R, SPSS or Python.
