Job Purpose
The Sales Consultant will be responsible for the development & performance of all sales activities of Branch/ Depot. Maintaining contact with dealers/channel sales partner to ensure high level of satisfaction. Achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives, through developing and implementing customer plans and servicing customers. Work with the Sales Manager to make sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well as negotiating contracts with potential clients.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Developing & implementing business plans & sales strategy to ensure attainment of company objective to ensure maximum growth & profitability.
• Ensure that customers and clients have the best possible retail experience
• Evaluating Branch/depot performance & making action plans.
• Conducting regular Training & counseling for team members to build motivation & improve selling skills.
• Achieve growth vis-a-vis targets by executing the sales strategy. Conduct in-depth competitor analysis and keeping abreast the current market trends & building a strong product position in the market
• Prepare the annual sales and marketing budget and ensure achievement of such budgeted figures
• Develop strategy for dealer network expansion and appoint new dealer
• Build & Manage relationship with dealers, ensure a personal rapport with different top dealers
• Ensure all complaints and issues from dealers/distributors are attended properly and addressed in shortest possible time
• Manage the logistics arrangement smooth supply of all finish goods to all Depots, C&FA to ensure there is enough material available in market to meet customer demand, ensure timelines, damage percentage, cost is adhered
• Conceptualize & implement sales promotional activities such as painter/Dealers meet & demonstration as a part of brand building & market development effort.
• Sale forecasting for the territory on a monthly & annual level.
• Analyze & review the market response/ requirements & communicating the same to the sales teams for coming up with new launches.
• Maintain inventory of paint/coatings/sundries and comestibles needed for custom paint mixing
• Stay up to date on current paint and coating products and
Required Skills and Competencies
• Good Communications Skills
• Knowledge of paint and coatings products sufficient to determine appropriate applications
• Good customer service and communications skills
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulation
Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing or Business Administration
• Must have a minimum of 3-4 years proven experience in sales
• Sales and Marketing of Paint and Building Materials will be a plus
• Must have worked or a good network on the Copperbelt and Northern part of Zambia
• Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
• A commitment to excellent customer service.
• Competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel, and outlook.
• Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a member of ZIM
