JOB DETAILS:
In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:
54.0 CUSTOMS OFFICER– INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION, GRADE ZRA07 (3 POSITIONS) - CGS OFFICE
A. PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Inspector – Intelligence and Information, the job holder will be responsible for providing intelligence information relating to deliberate schemes aimed at evading taxes administered by the Zambia Revenue Authority. The role entails the collection, handling, analysis and dissemination of information to the Authority to facilitate investigations, enforcement activities, and prosecution/conviction of offenders of offences under the Acts administered by the Zambia Revenue Authority.
B. MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Collaborating with the Inspectors - Intelligence and Information in setting intelligence tasks;
• Receiving and evaluating information reports from informers;
• Maintaining an up-to-date database/information index for jobs under intelligence processes;
• Handling of informers in accordance with procedure;
• Collecting data to feed into the intelligence analytical plans aimed at strengthening tax compliance;
• Collating information by linking it with other related information held on the system so as to further develop information into intelligence;
• Assisting in researching and analyzing information on tax matters;
• Collecting and providing timely information/intelligence to Inspectors in accordance with procedure; and
• Using ZRA assets for official purposes and in compliance with ZRA standing orders.
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent;
• Bachelor of arts or science degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Purchasing and Supply Management and Finance; and
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant post qualifying work experience in any Operating Division and/or Investigations.
• Must be of high integrity and free of any encumbrances.
