Role purpose
// Coordinates the activities of the various processing plant Areas such as Drying, cleaning, grading, treating and bagging operations to meet the seed availability and quality standards.
// Management of all plant stock the movements in SAP such as requests for process orders and seed receipts at various production stages.
// Coordinates training for all specialized plant equipment.
// Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maximize output and ensure high quality seeds.

Key responsibilities and tasks
// Responsible for supervision of plant operations and equipment through developing, managing, and taking full accountability of specific Key performance indicators to ensure maximum output in the following areas: drying, cleaning, grading, treating, bagging, and plant operations.
// Ensure all clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product mixture
Structuring and managing team members tasks and responsibilities to ensure effective operations.
// Responsible for specific SOPs for all equipment used for processing purposes.
// Ensure strict adherence to statutory and domestic regulations and procedures particularly those relating to safe working practices to avoid injury to personnel and damage to company property.
// Perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment to ensure equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate.
// Responsible for implementing measurement systems to monitor effectiveness of various processes and equipment.
// Responsible for all applicable trainings and continuous competence evaluation of all equipment operators.
// Lead ESH efforts, aid and arrange for resources to promote safety and ensure a safe working environment in all involved areas on site.
// Manage the flow of product through the different stages of the plant process to ensure high quality product is realized.
// Maintain operational records to fully support KPI management and as required by the quality management system
// Active participation and compliance to all ESH policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
// Ensure effective communication is done of all necessary information to all relevant stake holders
// Ensure housekeeping is maintained at a very high level
// Actively participate and support continuous improvement projects to drive cost saving initiatives and operational efficiencies

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
// Degree/Diploma in Production
// Management/Agriculture/Plant Science, with supervision and management experience.
// Hands on experience and technical proficiency in seed processing activities and maintenance.
// Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in a production facility
// Fluent in English
// Computer literate
// Knowledge of SAP is added advantage but not a must

Level of Education: Postgraduate Degree
