JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
• Ensuring that the SO2 monitoring system is operational and that the readings in the control room are reliable/acceptable. Escalate any malfunctioning equipment to the Advisor Environment.
• Continuous Control Room monitoring of the various SO2 readings from the monitoring equipment installed across the smelter/ refinery complex and the community (fence line detectors, stacks and ambient SO2 monitors).
• Performing data collection & recording in the required intervals across the SO2 measuring equipment.
• Triggering and following the processes as described in the TARP (Level 1, 2 and 3) and escalate any breach of thresholds accordingly.
• Advising and monitoring shutdown actions and impact on ambient SO2 levels.
• Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis for all Level 1 and 2 emission incidents.
• Providing accurate reporting/ trending of the detected emissions and update the Emission Shift Report.
• Adhering to statutory and domestic regulations, codes of practices in line with his/her appointment. Safety as a core value.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Diploma in Metallurgy, Environmental, Chemical or any related program as the minimum.
• Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
