JOB DETAILS:

JOB PURPOSE
To conduct tests and provide analytical data and related information in Electrical and Construction Testing Laboratories and in any other fields deemed competent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reporting to the Laboratory Analyst - Electrical and Construction Laboratory
• Perform laboratory and field test work for construction and electrical materials as required in accordance with approved test methods and procedures.
• Prepare standard reference materials for construction material testing and ensure their proper labeling, storage and use.
• Carry out sampling and sample preparation in accordance with approved procedures for construction laboratory.
• Carry out appropriate checks and tests to ensure the accuracy of test results.
• Comply with established procedures and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents and ensure a healthy and safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES CONDITIONS
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum of Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology or related field
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field will be an added advantage
• 3 years' work experience in a construction materials testing (including cement) laboratory
• Knowledge and Training in ISO17025:2017 is a must.
• The positions in salary scale ZABS 3 are in contract employment category.
• The positions in ZABS 6 are in permanent and pensionable employment category.
