• Chilanga Cement, Chilanga Plant, is looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals to take up the roles of;

1.MECHANICAL FITTER (X2)
Overall Mission of the Role:
This person will ensure mechanical maintenance and repairs are done on plant equipment in a safe and effective manner according to maintenance schedules to facilitate smooth plant operations.

Main Responsibilities:
• Perform maintenance and repairs to plant equipment in order to ensure equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate utilizing at least three of the following skills: rigging, fitting, machining, welding/cutting, lubrication and/or operation of a major piece of plant equipment such as a forklift.
• Carries out mechanical maintenance on plant equipment as per maintenance scheduling and using job plans and work orders and later signs the hard copy work orders after repairs/maintenance is complete.
• Repairs mechanical equipment on breakdown.
• Does mechanical repairs at any time of the day when called upon by superiors.
• Reports, through breakdown reports to superiors on cause of breakdown remedy done and spares used.
• Ensures good and correct use of tools.
• Ensures place of work is left clean after repair/maintenance tasks.
• Carries out pre-planned/preventive maintenance work involving dismantling machines, cleaning parts for clear visibility of tear and wear. Replacing worn out and broken parts, re-greasing/re-lubricating and rebuilding it in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
• Test-runs completed work to ascertain quality of repair and safe running of machinery concerned.
• Initiates orders for required materials/spares by compiling a list for superior’s action.
• Performs any other tasks assigned by superiors.

Qualifications, Experience and skills required:
• Artisan Fitter Crafts Certificate.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in a process industry.

Technical skills
• Knowledge of work and safety rules and regulations
• Sound mechanical knowledge (rigging, welding/cutting, machining, fitting, lubrication, operation of major equipment)
• Knowledge of procedures for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment (Equipment may have the following attributes: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic)
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and programs on plant equipment
• Knowledge of relevant equipment
• Knowledge of engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant software
• Knowledge of records keeping on plant equipment

2.BOILERMAKER (X5)
Overall, Mission of the Role:
This person will ensure mechanical maintenance and repairs through fabrication and welding are done on plant equipment according to maintenance schedules to facilitate smooth operations.

Main Responsibilities:
• Carries out welding repairs on plant equipment as per maintenance scheduling and using job plans and work orders and later signs the hard copy work orders after repairs/maintenance is complete.
• Repairs mechanical equipment on breakdown.
• Does mechanical repairs at any time of the day when called upon by superiors.
• Reports, through breakdown reports to superiors on cause of breakdown remedy done and spares used.
• Ensures good and correct use of tools.
• Ensures place of work is left clean after repair/maintenance tasks.
• Makes required items such as chutes, cones, transformers, etc. from sketches and drawings provided by superiors from the draughtsman.
• Tests all completed work to ascertain quality of repair and safe running of equipment concerned.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by superiors.

Qualifications, Experience and skills required:
• Craft certificate in Metal Fabrication.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in a process industry.

Technical skills
• Knowledge of work and safety rules and regulations
• Knowledge of relevant equipment
• Knowledge of reading engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant software
