JOB DETAILS:
In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:
40.0 ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – STAFF DEBTORS – GRADE ZRA06 (1 POSITION) – FINANCE DEPARTMENT
A. PURPOSE
Reporting directly to the Accountant-Staff Debtors and Insurance the job holder will be responsible for timely expeditiously and diligently processing of payments to staff members and reconcile staff debtors’ accounts and deal with discrepancies, complaints and problems arising.
B. MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Examining and screening before and after Travel Claims, Cash Request and Expense Claims, Foreign Travel and any other Payments relating to operations to- members of Staff. This entails ensuring that correct payments to staff are done timely and expeditiously And no one owing is advanced with imprest.;
• Processing all imprest retirements and ensure that all overdue amounts are deducted through payroll and Check Staff Accounts Before Payments is made to ensure no imprest is given were one has another outstanding;
• Monitoring and Reconciling of accounts to ensure that discrepancies are dealt with on time and in order to prevent complaints and problems that may arise regarding an account. Accounts to be reconciled and monitored include Subsistence Allowance Account, Fuel Imprest Account, and Sundry Debt account, Commuted Car Loan Account, Personal Development Laon Account, Staff Mortgage Account and Study Loan Account Subsistence Clearing Account, Fuel Clearing Account and Sundry Clearing Account. Monitoring Expense line accounts such as per diem local and per diem foreign to ensure there are no Mis posts;
• Receipting and distributing of case documents to ensure that all documents received are properly recorded and Filed once payments have been fully processed and attend to staff queries as and when they arise;
• Preparing Deduction schedules for those not Retiring on Time so that deductions are effected through Payroll;
• Ensuring that the transfer letters are taken to the bank for the money to be transferred and paid and make follow ups on Electronic Funds Transfers;
• Process all Staff Advances and ensure accounts are reconciled. Accounts to be reconciled include Housing Advance, Salary Advance and Commuted Car Loan Advance;
• Constantly and necessarily liaising with fellow players in the staff debtors section to enhance co-ordination; and
• Perform any other related duties assigned by supervisors.
C. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent;
• Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualifications such a ZICA Licentiate, ACCA, CIMA;
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant post qualifying work experience in accounting; and
• Must be a member of ZICA.

• Computer skills – Word, Excel, SAP, Access;
• Application of good public relations;
• Must be a self-oriented person;
• Able to cope with varying scenarios changes;
• Interpersonal skills;
• In-depth knowledge of basic accounting and business management concepts;
• Self-discipline; and
• Able to beat deadlines and able to work under pressure subject to other factors.
