JOB DETAILS:
In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacant positions:
5.0 Assistant Director – ICT Technical and Operations - Grade ZRA03 (1 POSITION)
A. PURPOSE
Reporting to Director- ICT, the position will be responsible for effectively supporting the ZRA business through the provision of timely, cost effective, efficient and professional ICT Technical Services and Operations through consultation, agreements and research, with customers and service providers by developing and implementing ICT Technical and Operations strategies, standards and procedures for the purpose of achieving corporate goals.
B. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading teams that undertake the planning and designing of ICT operations, networks and communications systems
• Leading teams that undertake the deployment, configuration and testing of ICT operations, networks and communications systems.
• Leading teams that undertake the management of ICT operations, networks and communications systems
• Leading teams that implement appropriate ICT networks standards in line with best practice are implemented for LAN, MAN and WAN connectivity.
• Leading teams that provide server infrastructure requirements in relation to the growth in business automation needs.
• Leading teams that plan, design, deploy, configure, test and operate VHF and HF Radio Communications
• Leading teams that undertake the planning and designing ICT End User Support Systems.
• Leading teams that undertake the deployment, configuration and testing ICT End User
• Ensuring end user, networks and communications services availability is within the Service Level margins.
• Ensuring that performance meets agreed service levels for the signed contracts with the contractors or institutions that provide services to the Authority.
• Controlling the execution of the departmental budget to ensure that expenditure is within the approved budget.
• participating as part of ICT management in the development and execution of an ICT Strategy that supports the core business of the Authority.
• Assessing training needs and arrange the training and development of all staff in technical and operations section, so as, to enhance their competence and career development
• Agreeing, setting, monitoring and assessing performance of staff in technical and operations section to ensure that they work towards meeting both their personal goals and the Authority’s performance objectives.
• Ensuring that performance management is implemented for all staff in Technical and Operations unit.
• Preparing and consolidating of ICT inputs to the annual budget.
• Making recommendations to the organisation about the Technical and Operations unit to align it with the prevailing ICT Division/Department and ZRA CSP strategies and objectives.
C. REQUIREMENTS
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Equivalent;
• Degree in Electronics, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent.
• PRINCE 2 Certification or any other recognised Project Management Certification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant post qualifying work experience in the Information and Communication Technology profession with two years at managerial level
• Practical experience in networking, ICT communications and ICT operations.
• Experience in ICT Governance and ICT Security.
• Practical experience in leading teams of diverse expertise
• Master’s Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage
