Job Summary:
As a Business Development Officer at Strathmore Insurance Brokers
Limited, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding our client base. You
will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with
prospects, and promoting our insurance products and services. This position requires a
proactive approach to sales, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the
insurance industry.

Responsibilities:

Identify and Pursue New Business Opportunities:
• Research and identify potential clients and market segments for insurance products
and services.
• Prospect for new business through networking, cold calling, and attending industry
events.
• Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our client base.

Cultivate Client Relationships:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance brokers, and industry
stakeholders.
• Conduct meetings, presentations, and consultations to understand client needs and
recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
• Provide personalized service and support to clients throughout the sales process.

Promote Insurance Products and Services:
• Educate clients on insurance products, coverage options, and policy features.
• Present proposals, quotes, and recommendations to clients based on their specific
needs and objectives.
• Collaborate with underwriters and other internal teams to develop customized
insurance solutions for clients.

Drive Sales and Revenue Growth:

• Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals set by management.
• Develop and implement sales strategies and action plans to achieve business
objectives.
• Track sales metrics, pipeline activity, and performance indicators to measure progress
and identify opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with Internal Teams:

• Coordinate with underwriting, claims, and client services teams to ensure seamless
delivery of insurance solutions.
• Provide feedback and insights to internal stakeholders to improve product offerings,
pricing strategies, and service delivery.
Stay Informed about Industry Trends:
• Keep abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
• Attend conferences, seminars, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to insurance products and sales techniques

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pensions and Insurance, Banking and Finance, business
administration, marketing, finance, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in business development or sales within the insurance
industry.
• Strong understanding of insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
