JOB DETAILS:
Mansa Sugar Limited invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the position of Cane Officer. This position reports to the farm Manager and shall be responsible for;
• Assessing the annual requirement for each Pivot by experience and ground reality
• Preparation of weekly plan pivot-wise
• Carry out the planned activities through the team leaders/workers/contractors by taking muster-roll everyday morning and allocating the work based on weekly plan.
• Applying the Agro inputs in the planned fields by arranging manpower and necessary tools/equipment
• Daily monitoring the implements’ operation in the field, usage, time, quantity and quality of work and submitting the report in the prescribed format.
• Supervising the daily activities carried out by the Team leaders / workers / Contractors and ensure the quality work is done at the end of the day.
• Understanding the depth of issues/problems and resolve it there. Seeking the help of Junior Agronomist to resolve it whenever needed.
• Monitoring the Nursery fields and ensuring the adoption all agronomical practices as per SOP
• Carrying out the agronomical practices by arranging necessary manpower/tools/equipment as per the daily requirement for the Pivot
• Follow up with Pivot operators regularly and ensuring the irrigation is done as per the schedule.
• Supporting the Irrigation maintenance team for wheel track maintenance by providing agro workers as and when it is needed.
• Continuously watching the crop for water stress and accordingly communicate the Irrigators to irrigate wherever there is stress.
• Preparing daily reports regarding labour allocation, the tasks accomplished and efficiency and submitting to Junior Agronomist.
• Arranging all required inputs/tools/implements/manpower to carry out trials.
• Daily monitoring of adherence by Employees on Policy implementation and SHE norms in all locations/workplaces without any deviation

Qualifications
• Full grade (12) certificate;
• Degree/Diploma in General Agriculture or other related courses.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience
