Employment Opportunity
• Newrest Zambia Ltd is looking for a qualified and experienced chef to join the team. The Chef will directly report to the Executive Chef.

Job Purpose
• The Chef is responsible for the proper and timely preparation of meals including but not limited to, food service (garnishing and presentation), food safety and supervision of kitchen staff. He/she is expected to estimate the food requirements, participate in food preparations and handle speciality foods/dishes for clients with food allergies or intolerances.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepares high quality, nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) according to client scheduling and within the menu plan and budget guidelines of the Company;
• Manages Kitchen Staff in food preparation;
• Prepares and sends food orders to the purchasing department;
• Ensures CCP controls (cooking and chilling) are monitored accurately and records are filled accordingly;
• Ensures Blast Chiller and holding fridge are in good working conditions at all times and advise Maintenance in case of any faults.

Requirements
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Food Production or related
• 3 years’ experience in a similar setup.
• Proficient in Basic computer programs (word, excel, email) for easy stock taking, record keeping and email purchase requests.

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: Postgraduate Degree
