Job Description:
• Sortons Beer Garden is seeking a talented and forward-thinking Chef to lead our kitchen. As the Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary identity of or establishment and driving the growth of our restaurant.

Responsibilities:
• Culinary Excellence: Exhibit a passion for culinary arts by creating and executing high-quality dishes in line with Sortons Beer Garden’s standards.
• Menu Development: Collaborate with management to develop and enhance the menu, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and current food trends.
• Kitchen Operations: Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment.
• Innovative Contribution: Experiment with flavours, techniques, and presentations to introduce new and exciting offerings to the menu. Stay abreast of culinary trends and contribute creative ideas.
• Quality Control: Ensure the consistent quality of dishes through regular taste-testing, monitoring freshness of ingredients, and discarding any items that do not meet standards.
• Inventory Management: Monitor food stock levels, place orders as needed, and manage inventory efficiently to prevent wastage.
• Health and Safety: Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen space. Implement proper sanitation practices.

Qualifications:
• Cooking Expertise: Diploma or equivalent qualification with experience in the hospitality & food industry.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling various tasks with composure.
• Creativity: Exhibit innovation in culinary creations and a willingness to contribute fresh ideas to enhance the dining experience.
• Time Management: Exceptional time management skills to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely food preparation.
• Up-to-Date Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest cooking techniques, food trends, and industry developments.
• Sanitation Awareness: Familiarity with and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
