Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
• Reporting to the Senior QAQC -Chemist, the Chemist QAQC will play a pivotal role in
(i)supporting the Senior Chemist QAQC in maintaining the quality management system in accordance with the adopted quality standard,
(ii) Coordinating Laboratory QAQC by ensuring references material, blanks are readily available,
(iii) Document records of all QAQC related reports.

Specific Job Responsibility
• This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Ensure that all personnel and visitors adhere to company safety regulations and requirements of the section.
• Generate weekly quality control profiles from LIMS for reference materials, duplicates and blanks.
• Investigate and report all biases on reference materials.

• Documentation Support:
• Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of documentation
• required for adopted quality standard implementation and compliance.
• Ensure that documentation follows the standard’s format and is accessible to relevant personnel.
• Training Assistance:

Support the organization of training sessions for laboratory staff on adopted quality standard.
• Data Collection and Analysis:
• Internal Audits:
• Communication Facilitation:
• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Record Keeping:
• Follow-up on Action Items:
• Continuous Improvement Support:
• Problem-Solving Assistance
• Quality Culture Promotion:
• Ensure availability of certified reference materials (CRMs) and secondary reference materials.
• LIMS administration and maintenance.
• Support Supervisor in conducting quality audits and maintain records.
• Preparation of stock and working standards for the whole Laboratory and maintain records.
• Coordinate preparation and analysis and reporting of round robin (inter-lab exchange) samples.
• Generate the monthly operations report.
• Manage and maintain good housekeeping of the Instruments room and area of responsibility
• Coordinate training of all new personnel and maintain records.
• To perform any reasonable task as instructed by QAQC Senior Chemist

Experience required to perform in this job
The Chemist will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
• Proficiency in Microsoft office.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEN 17025 2017 & ISO 9001
• At least 2 years’ experience in a Mine Site Laboratory under QAQC.
• Working experience in the process plant.
• Knowledge in Excel.

Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate
• BSc. Chemistry or its equivalent

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
