Key Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities:
Public Engagement
• Produce and provide high-quality information resources and materials (web-based, print, video, and photos) for effective donor and public engagement in a timely manner.
• Manage the planning, production and dissemination of issue-based materials (web-based, print, video and photos) for informing, educating and engaging existing/potential donors.
• Ensure strong writing and storytelling skills are strongly supported with well-composed and visually strong digital photographs and/or video.
• Ensure that materials are clearly linked and relevant to key WVZ programmes and demonstrate advanced knowledge of core ministry strategy.
• Ensure materials adhere to WV protocols and practices for protection of children and other vulnerable groups.
• Facilitate the development of content with technical teams, field staff, Advocacy, and communications

Support to TPs, Advocacy and Donor Liason
• With support from Technical Programmes generate market products and services on the website and social media for the different WVZ audiences based on existing programmes to ensure donors and partners are updated on the transformation occurring in communities we work.
• Utilize diverse communications channels and messages to advocate publicly on agreed-upon issues in the fundamental interests of exploited, vulnerable and emergency-affected populations.
• Utilize resources collated by Advocacy to develop communications messages and materials such as brochures, posters, and leaflets, videos and documentaries.
• Collect communications resources from Area Programmes/Sector heads and Senior Leadership Technical (SLT) to produce PERIODIC UPDATES (Web-based, print, video, photos and situational reports) for staff and Partnership to create shared understanding and support of WV Zambia’s work
• Maintain strong collaboration with Donor Liaison, advocacy and TP colleagues on all communications and routinely assess the information provided for newsworthiness.
• Provide support for WVZ graphic design works for technical programs and ensure the WVI brand guidelines are followed on all publications and other materials for both external and internal communication.
• Provide support to Area Programmes and technical areas by initiating and piloting new social media innovations to interact with all the different audiences aimed at showcasing WVZ work.

Internal Engagement:
• Consistently provide accurate information to the internal community through user-friendly and accessible platforms.
• Provide assistance in the implementation of Communications team’s own and joint initiatives to increase the engagement of targeted audiences. This includes, but is not limited to, following up with concerned functions and teams to keep up with the initiatives’ timelines.
• Ensure that internal information is consistently and appropriately managed and communicated so that WV Zambia’s work is understood, trusted and influential – in-country and internationally.
• Manage and communicate internal and strategic information consistently and appropriately to create shared understanding and support for World Vision’s work.
• Develop, maintain and promote a consistent brand identity in the production of publications and other corporate materials to achieve consistency and ensure WVZ visibility.
• Coordinate all videography & photography to ensure quality editing for both internal and external staff in line with WVZ strategic outputs.

Digital Media
• Consistently provide regular updates to the WV Zambia pages and manage all social media platforms (Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube Channel) in line with the national office demands and that of the Partnership.
• Ensure fresh content on all relevant digital media and monitor/track success by monitoring of traffic on the site/pages
• Creatively communicate the key reports on social media platforms through creation of innovative in graphics such as info-graphics.
• Contextualize and Implement the Global Digital Plans for international events.

Traditional Media
• Position WV with local and international media to create strong public awareness and engagement on priority issues, and change public attitudes and behavior concerning these.
• Ensure all relevant partners and donors are tagged as and when content related to their funding is posted. These may include donors (sponsors, multilateral & bilateral), private sector, CSO, etc.
• Work closely with communications & advocacy team members for optimal coordination and digital & print production of communications resources.
• Assist in maintaining the media crisis management plan and protect World Vision’s reputation from actual or potential media crisis.
• Promote and protect the public image and ministry of World Vision by strengthening existing relationships and building new strategic relationships with key national and international media
• Secure positive mentions of World Vision and prominence in media coverage regularly
• Engage various internal stakeholders, such as Advocacy and programmes, to create synergy in media planning and messaging.
• Ensure strategic and creative thinking while engaging the media to allow effective communication of program results as outlined in WVZ national strategy.
• Assist in media relations capacity building training for WVZ senior management.

Emergency Communications:
• Consistently provide regular updates to the WV Zambia pages, WVRelief and manage all social media platforms in line with the national office demands and that of the partnership on emergency response interventions.
• Efficiently and effectively manage emergency response communications to raise awareness about the needs of survivors and position World Vision Zambia as a responsive relief agency.
• Assist in capacity building training of spokespersons for emergency situations.

WV Zambia takes a zero tolerance to safeguarding breaches in all its operations. Zero tolerance means;
• Failure to follow WV’s safeguarding behaviour protocols, or any other part of the WV safeguarding policy.
• Other inappropriate behaviour toward children and adults in the communities we work.
• Or failing to report a known or suspected safeguarding incident committed by a WV staff or affiliate report

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
• Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations or Journalism/
• 2- 3 years of experience in Communications and/or Public Relations field/creative graphic design
• Experience in Writing Human Interest Impact Stories
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in the English language (written and verbal)
• Possess high level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills necessary to build internal and external relations
• Strong understanding of communications requirements of the WV partnership
• Have an understanding of corporate social media management
• Possess excellent necessary skills in dealing with the media, donors, and other stakeholders
• Must be a team player
