Background
• The USAID Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project collaborates with governments and non-governmental agencies to ensure the uninterrupted supply of health commodities in support of United States Government-funded public health initiatives in Nigeria. The project provides direct procurement and supply chain management support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and Population and Reproductive Health. • Panagora Group, a small business providing novel and integrated solutions in global health and international development, provides long- and short-term professional labor to support strategic engagement, advocacy, and knowledge management and communications (KMC) activities through strategic planning, implementation, and capacity building for the Zambia country office.
• The Communications Specialist will support the GHSC-PSM project’s learning, knowledge management, and communications activities in Zambia.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Support GHSC-PSM project communications as part of the Knowledge Management unit in close collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to identify data, stories, and articles for communications materials.
• Create and maintain key messages and brand identity, ensuring that they are integrated throughout the project’s communications products.
• Create inspiring and compelling content for project website, social media and e-newsletters: Write summaries, success stories, fact sheets, technical briefs and other communications materials to highlight project successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Support development of presentations, briefers, etc. for senior staff.
• Edit and format technical materials including promotional materials, country reports and technical briefs, ensuring clear and concise language and strong layout and design in accordance with project/USAID branding guidelines.
• Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts utilizing M&E and data resources.
• Support ad hoc GHSC-PSM led technical meetings, conferences and events.
• Keep abreast of new developments, monitor online/news sources for emerging issues with global health supply chain and inform the team.
• Develop and implement a communications strategy to cultivate and enhance relationships with targeted audiences and key influencers.
• File all communications materials and maintain a communications tracker for easy reference to all communications content.
• Follow annual work plans and budgets based on project resources available and intended annual and life of project targets set according to Government of Zambia and USG priorities.
• Consistently follow USAID regulations, project policies, and quality management best practices.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time in consultation with supervisor of record.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business Administration & Management or related field required.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience working in project or corporate communications; experience working on USAID-funded health programs preferred.
• Experience producing reports and presentations required.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher required; experience with Microsoft Visio strongly preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
• Fluency in English required.

Level of Effort: This is a full-time position based in Lusaka, Zambia.
